Melinda Harper new paintings and glass works
27 February - 27 April 2008
Melinda Harper is one of Australia's best known Abstract painters. Part of the group of artists involved with Melbourne's Store 5 group in the 1980s, Harper has been working consistently with colour. Melinda Harper's work recalls the hard edge, flat colour and careful methodical composition made popular by the Op Artists of the mid-last century but they also reflect the joy of colour, paint and the practice of painting itself.
This exhition features large painted works as well as a series of vessels and vases, and a new group of small embroideries.
